I was thinking about Christmas and the surrounding months in term of search engine optimisation and its quite interesting… Customers are going to want to appear for key phrases that reflect the current economic climate and the time of year.
Using Google Trends: http://www.google.com/trends You can set the search result to the last 12 months to see the amount of phrases searched, so let trial it, firstly with something obvious…
So the phrase ‘great christmas presents‘ isnt searched at all from half way through january to half way through october, where as in November, December it is searched massively. see the result .

This combined with a lot of time and commitment would be an excellent marketing tool, you could research the phrases that have high search results at Xmas and prepare while there is no pressure, This would allow you to find relatively good / high search volume phrases with low competitiveness.
