The Written Word- Is It Still Important in the Modern World of SEO?
The written word is a powerful tool. In countries across the world, the written word offers the main form of communication and in an age where technology is ever changing and evolving, it seems slightly strange that in the wonderful world of SEO, writing still plays such an important role.
However, as a content writer/marketer that’s good news for me, as it keeps me and the other members of the department in their jobs!! So with Google continuing to put a strong emphasis on the importance of regular, fresh and unique content as part of an SEO campaign, the written word clearly plays a hugely important role in our everyday working lives, and ultimately how well our clients perform.
The written word has certainly developed, and now we are able to use it in various forms as part of a tailored content marketing campaign to produce the best piece of content for the needs of the client. This could be through an article that reflects the company’s latest news, a press release that promotes the latest product on offer or a guest blog that gets really creative about the latest goings-on in the industry!
Who would have thought just how essential a well written, consumer driven news article or blog post would be to the overall success of a business in today’s modern era? With websites and blogs so easily accessible, the written word offers the best chance of getting a business noticed, driving traffic to the relevant page of a website and ultimately getting the sale at the end of it all.
Moving forward, it doesn’t look like the role of content within an SEO campaign is going to dwindle; in fact, it’s more likely to be of even greater importance moving forward. As a result, the written word continues to be just as effective in today’s society, even with all its technological advancements, as it was centuries ago when the likes of Shakespeare, Dickens and Wordsworth did their thing with words!
