How Social Media can improve your ROI in 2013

Social media usage is growing year by year and I think we can all safely agree that this usage will increase massively this year! In this blog, I’ll be writing about how you can continue using social media and potentially increase your return on investment

Maintain Levels of Interaction & Engagement!

So many people are active on a huge number of social media sites and it’s imperative to remain active with these people and forging relationships with them. These are your potential customers and it’s hugely important to cater to them and being interactive so you can ultimately make money! All companies and organisations that use social media, whether it is a huge corporation or an SME, have one main objective: to be successful.

To do this you need to remember to talk to your followers and connect to them on a personal level. Treat your campaign like your personal page (to an extent…swearing and dodgy pictures are slightly frowned upon!), if someone’s commented, reply to it! Companies who just post links will never gain anything from it if they don’t follow up on the comments their followers have made. The key is to reach out to followers and they’ll appreciate a human response rather than just from a machine.

Have Brilliant Content!!

Many of our blogs posts over the past year or so have always gone on about how content is key when it comes to your SEO campaign, and so, here it is again folks: Content is Key!

Having good quality content will continue to be hugely beneficial to your campaign in 2013. Posting things like videos, images, links, comments, likes, retweets, etc etc will continue helping you achieve activity on your campaigns and hopefully a return on your investment! That said, it’s important to not overload your followers and fans with a whole heap of useless information. Stick to making sure the content you put up is relevant to the campaign. It’s great to post a funny video or picture now and again to engage your followers but there’s no point posting up funny videos all day that has nothing to do with your business.

When it comes to publishing your content, make sure it is unique and something that people will want to read whilst making sure it is relevant to your campaign. It is also worth making sure your campaign is mobile friendly due to the fact more and more people are logging into Facebook, Twitter and Google+ via their mobile devices.

Eradicate your Competition!

The competition on social media sites is HUGE. People and companies are talking about anything and everything so it’s important to be ahead of the game when

it comes to making your campaign a success. Engaging with your clientele is massively important when it comes to return business for your company. Even with new customers, engaging with them will be key to ensure they use your services and buy your products.

There is also a fine line between being amazingly active and just being plain annoying

with the amount of posts you make so it’s a good idea to keep this in check and to guarantee you’re posting as much as you need to but not annoying people who will be your potential customers in the process.
There’s a difference between being active and being interactive, make sure you’re the latter! It’s all well and good posting things up, but you won’t get new business if you don’t comment or share things. If someone comments on your status…reply!

Making sure you’ve gained a good grasp on the things you need to do in order for your social media campaign to be successful, will mean that more people will follow you or like your page, these people will then buy your products or services which will then make you a whole lotta money! And let’s face it…money does make the world go round…doesn’t it?
