Google launches the free analytics Android app
With an ever changing social dynamic influencing and adapting the global business environment, the necessity and demand for the latest technology in industry has never been more apparent than in recent years. In Feb 2012, it was reported by the Guardian newspaper that 50.3% of the UK population now own a smartphone. The bulk of this percentage demographic is aged 16-48.
How will Google’s Analytics App affect the industry environment?
Google have acted upon the boost in Android phone sales by recognising trends in the marketplace and launching the much anticipated Analytics app. With the ever increasing demand for the latest technology, comes a cumulative requirement from businesses for instantaneous information and reports (on the go) to measure KPI. The new real-time analytics app caters for this by not only measuring company website data, but by also tracking the number of new and active users who launch a business app (should your business have one) every day. With this information now available ‘to hand’, this readily gives businesses increased opportunity to track engagement, and act upon any downturns with greater speed.
The impact envisaged for Google’s Analytics App
Having only been released by Google on the 29th June 2012, it is too early to provide definitive feedback as this Analytics App has only (thus far) been released in Beta form. This allows Google developers to track usage, and to ensure that all metrics are functioning fully with usage at capacity. With such a buzz and excitement over this app and with Google being the nation’s portal as a search and reporting tool, forecasts for the full version are extremely positive!
