Google+ Business Pages – 3 Top Tips & Tricks!
There’s been a lot of chat over the past couple of months about Google+ Business pages, and following on from Nick and James’ latest video blog on how to set up a Google+ Business Page, here are 3 top tips that I thought would be handy to include when setting up your own page!
1) Utilise your Profile
When you initially set up your business page, it’s important to fill out your whole profile completely. Whilst it is a social media marketing tool, don’t treat it as such! The ‘social’ aspect is far more important than the ‘marketing’ aspect. The key is to attract customers to your page and your site which will then ultimately lead to sales! By filling in the ‘about’ page with information that is relevant to your business and adding in keywords to make it SEO friendly makes it easier for potential customers to find you. Adding a company logo and a banner picture also helps people to engage with the page and makes you look professional.
2) Be Creative!
It’s imperative to be fun and exciting when setting up your business page. No one wants to look at a boring page especially if they’re looking to buy a product or service from you. Using images that relate to your business can have a huge impact from a usability point of view. Saying that, also posting things that are fun and relevant to your industry helps engage people and can create connections with your potential customers. A great example of how a company has been creative with their Google+ Business page is Pepsi. Their use of images and variety of posts makes them stand out and helps them engage with their customers!
3) Write Great Google+ Posts
Good content is a massive factor when making your Google+ business page a success. Don’t be afraid to write how you speak. We’re all human and potential customers will appreciate the fact that an actual person has made the post and not just a machine. When making your post, mix it up a little! Sometimes only a few lines of content and a link will be sufficient enough to get your message across whereas other times a longer post full of information is needed. The key is not to be boring!! Mixing up long and short posts can help your page engage more with your customers and doesn’t make your page look monotonous!
