Creare is going for Gold with the three peaks challenge!
This weekend, eight staff members of the Creare SEO and Web design team, will be facing the all mighty National Three Peaks challenge, in aid to raise funds for a local charity.
On Saturday 18th August 2012, Nick Rinylo, James Bavington, Daniel Long, Anthony Cole, Rob Francis, Jamie Allsop, Rob Kent, Adam Moss will climb the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
The highest of the three mountains, and the first hat will be attempted by the team is Ben Nevis in Scotland with an elevation of 1344m above sea level. Second in the challenge is Scafell Pike in the Lake District. It is the lowest of the three at 978m, however, it is arguably the hardest of all due to its steep ascent. It is also known to be the hardest to navigate with poor weather conditions, so we are all hoping for clear skies!
Finally, the team will face Snowdon in Wales, with an elevation of 1085m. Snowdon has a few different route options, most of which share the same final steep ascent to the summit.
The company has so far raised, £1518, which will be donated to New Directions Rugby, a charity that supports people with learning difficulties. New Directions is an inspiring, vibrant, local charity that supports members, their families and carers to lead a full and valued life and works in a real partnership with them. The charity was established 60 years ago by local parents of children with learning disabilities who wanted to see improved services and facilities for their families.
As well as the climb, the company has also been raising funds through themed casual work days, bake sales, a group swimathon and a cycle from Rugby to Oxford.
