Hi and welcome to this weeks SEO Video blog, earlier this week Google released a blog post on http://analytics.blogspot.co.uk/ showcasing their new system for tracking conversions from social networks.
They have highlighted 3 areas for improvement, which will be available to all GA users in the coming weeks an consist of:
1.) How social media is helping your business with direct conversions or assisted conversion.
2.) Help you to understand the social activity both on and off your site to help you refine user engagement.
3.) To make better data-driven decisions about your social media investments.
From the blog post we have taken several screen shots which illustrate different elements of the new functionality, the first being the ability to see social performance at a glance and its impact on conversions.

Secondly which goals are being impacted by social media, this will allow you to add a monetary value to your social campaigns clarifiing the value added to your business.

Finding out how your visitors behave can be key to improve the conversion rate of your website, the social sources report shows engagement and conversion metrics for each social network.

Next the ‘social plugins’ this helps you identify the content on your site which has had the most tweets, likes and + 1′s. By identifing popular content, you can then write or publish articles of a similar flavour to encourage social signals.

Finally the ‘activity stream report’ this will show you how the rest of the world is enagaing with your content across the social web.
