San Fran’tastic’ Key Points from the SES Conference & Expo
Last week the SES conference and expo took place in San Francisco providing information and expert advice for all SEOs, SEMs and Social Media fans!
If, like us here at Creare, you weren’t fortunate enough to travel 5000 miles to sunny San Fran, here’s an overview of the three important things in my opinion of what went down and what the experts say we need to focus on in terms of our SEO, Social and Internet Marketing strategies!
1) Content is ALWAYS King!
Time and time again we’ve heard about how good content helps businesses in terms of SEO and marketing. Not only does fantastic content generate link activity, it also engages the reader and helps make the business and brand a lot stronger. Delivering value to your readers and people going onto the site is just as important as making a sale so let’s make those one time visitors become returning visitors!
2) Mobile Search
Gone are the days where we just use our phone for calling and texting! Using the internet and searching on your mobile device is becoming more and more popular, and shows no signs of slowing down. Research shows that mobile stats are rising and more people are searching for things via their smartphones and mobile devices. As difficult as it may be, we need to find ways in which we can serve and delight our customers should they decide to interact via their mobile.
3) Link Building for Ecommerce
An important factor for any SEO who’s worth their weight is finding good, bespoke ways to linkbuild for ecommerce clients. Linkbuilding for ecommerce sites may not be the pinnacle of fun but there are ways to do it properly and making sure that only the best techniques are used. The guys at SES talk about relevancy and to always put it first! Forget about the page rank for a minute, is this site you want a link from RELEVANT to your business and industry? If not, step away! Be creative with your linkbuilding. Make a strategy. Hey, if you fail to plan, you ultimately plan to fail. Do your research when you linkbuild, programmes like Open Site Explorer are a dream to find potential links, find high quality industry relevant sites and pick up the phone. Writing blogs is massive when it comes to white hat link building techniques, not only do they generate links, they give you a presence online. It comes back to the content again, if you know your audience and write good quality content, writing blog posts and articles can be one of the easiest forms of linkbuilding.
All the points made at the expo are hugely relevant for anyone in internet marketing, the key message being to keep ahead of your competitors when it comes to marketing your business online. Here at Creare, we’re always happy to help when it comes to your internet marketing, whether it be SEO, PPC or Social Media marketing so contact us for more information.

Nice post Raksha!
I def. agree with the notion that content is the king, as long as is absolutely stellar, and remarkable.
