Data Capture PPC Adverts
Just a quick blog post to point out the latest search advert extension or alike I have just caught site of on Google.co.uk. This new search adverts for Wordstream allows data capture within the advertisement. In this particular example the user is able to subscribe to the Wordstream newsletter via the PPC advert.
I’ve seen a form of data capture before in Adwords search network adverts but this was to request a call back and not sign up for a newsletter. The two devices I should imagine attract two very different types of searcher where the request a call back is more likely to be new visitors looking to find out more information where signing up for a newsletter is more something a return visitor/previous customer would do.
This is not to say the advert is no use as new visitors can simply click on the advert to be taken to the website and discover more information. Perhaps by offering devices for new and existing visitors is where the beauty of this new ad form lies.
I can’t find anything on the Adwords blog spot announcing the new ad form as released in BETA or even mass released so this may simply be a test or for specific industries. I’d like to see more options for making your adverts stand out though so hopefully we’ll see the options in all our accounts soon.
