“Have you seen Google this morning?”. When you hear this question around the office (sometimes accompanied by a few “Oh Wows”), you know it’s a Google Doodle day. Read on as we round up the cleverest, coolest and most thought-provoking pictures that our favourite search engine has provided for our enjoyment in 2012.
Anti-SOPA Doodle
January 18th
Google decided to join other big names on the web to oppose the SOPA and PIPA bills which were designed to prevent online piracy, but which opponents said were equivalent to the censorship of the Internet.
Edward Lear’s 200th Birthday
May 12th
A spot of nostalgia to celebrate the creator of The Owl and the Pussycat, and a good demonstration of how recognisable the Google name remains – even when incorporated into a detailed doodle.
Robert Moog’s 78th Birthday

Lots of interesting tunes around the office on this particular morning as we all experimented on Robert Moog’s Synthesizer.
The Olympic Doodles
July – August
A series of clever and colourful doodles marked the arrival of the Olympic Games in London, and the added interactivity brought some friendly competition to our mornings as we tried to beat each other in the time trials.
Halloween

Google must know by now that their interactive doodles are their most popular, and this Halloween edition was one of the best of the year.
